The Ceremonial Haircut Before the Wedding

We hadn't planned it that way, but my son and I were at the barber at the same time to get fresh haircuts before the wedding tomorrow. My son is one of the groomsmen and is in the ceremony.
My son has a beard and requires a little more effort from the barber to make him look good.
Our barber is a bit ornery, (No, a lot ornery!) and he had some hair coloring suggestions for us.
My son with an accent color. Very nice if you ask me.
I was almost afraid of what the barber would do to me. I followed my son into the barber chair. Bob, the barber, is a great guy that has cut my hair now for over 30 years now. He always has funny stories to tell and some of the worst jokes imaginable by mankind.

I get blue instead of red. Pretty nice.

Do you think the bride will mind?

have you ever thought of saving your hair trimmings for a time in the future when you may need to recycle them

  2. OMG. Gag me with a spoon. Blue? And the same barber for 30 years? I was 23 when you first went to him. There's a thought.

  3. Enjoy the festivities!

I think blue is a lovely color, but it needs a circle.

Let's see, red for the groom and his men, blue for the father, and white for the bride. Sounds patriotic.

  5. Bobskoot,
Are you worried about my receding hairline? My barber says he can take care of it, for a price, but I have resisted so far. Do you need extra hair? I can probably send you some.

  6. Conch,
Don't like blue? I prefer it to neon green and Bob, the barber, has all the colors imaginable.

  7. Keith,
Now you are demonstrating some real creativity. We should have thought of that. We took pictures on the cell phone and emailed to daughter's phone that morning. She , I think, was freaking out a bit until she realized that it just washed out. Thr orneriness continued all weeekend.
There was even an "air band" song at the reception. We recreated Boston's "More than a Feeling", daughter sang lead vocal, son did drums, and I did the air guitar solo. Unfortunately, a few people took video on cell phones and cameras. It may be up on You Tube soon, or at least that has been threatened.
I remain frightful of the possible resulting internet sensation.

  10. Dear CPA3485 (Jimbo):

They only told you "It just washes out." The big surprise will come the morning of the big day, when you and your son will look like components of an American flag. Have a great day at the wedding.
